Menologion
An
excellent
free program (for Windows only) which provides the daily troparian and
kontakian as well as an image of the relevant icon(s) for the day. The
program was written by one of the members of Saint John the
Wonderworker parish in Atlanta, which is one of the parishes in the
OCA Diocese of the South. Note that the program can be
augmented by downloading additional (and free) translations of the
Bible, including an updated public domain version of the Old
Testament intended to conform to the LXX.
Questions about Orthodoxy
You can find answers to some of the questions
you've been wanting to ask (and perhaps some questions you haven't
even thought of!) at the website of the
OCA Cathedral in Boston.
You can find a lot of useful material - music,
saints of the day, latest OCA news, etc. - at the website of the
Orthodox Church in America.
You can find information specific to the Diocese
of the South (our diocese) here.
Hapgood Service Book
Isabel Florence Hapgood, in 1906, compiled and
translated from Church Slavonic into English almost all of the
orders of service used by the Orthodox Church. That very
useful work is now in the public domain and is available for
download, for personal, non-commercial use, as a PDF document from
this website.
Please note that this is a rather large file,
approximately 15 meg, and will take a bit of time to download, so
you may want to save the downloaded file on your own PC for quicker
reference in the future.
